Sopladas, Ancestral Karma & the Power of Mapacho
Before every session, I tune in—not just to the body, but to the spirit. I listen to what’s moving beneath the surface: the emotional weight, the ancestral imprints, and the unseen forces at play. Healing isn’t just about symptoms; it’s about energy, lineage, and the spaces in between.
Once I’ve assessed where the patient is—spiritually and emotionally—I offer an Amazonian plant medicine blend that I’ve crafted specifically to assist in the release. These plants work beyond the physical, dissolving blockages, self-limiting beliefs, and energetic stagnation before the acupuncture even begins.
The other day, I gave a patient chuchuhuasi, a powerful masculine plant known for strength, boundaries, and fortification. The effects were immediate—stirring something deep within her. When I began the acupuncture session, the shift intensified.
I used specific points to clear ancestral karma and extract an entity attachment—something old, something deeply embedded. One of the points, connected to interpersonal relationships, bled heavily—a clear sign of release. But in this kind of work, removal alone is never enough. You must seal what was opened. You must fill the space.
At first, there was clarity. And then came the anger.
Rage surfaced—raw, unfiltered—as she relived the moments where she had been silenced, overpowered, and dismissed. She feared this surge of emotions would cost her everything—even her job. But this wasn’t just personal frustration. This was energy moving, something breaking free.
The Power of Sopladas & Mapacho
This is where mapacho, the sacred tobacco of the Amazon, comes in.
Mapacho isn’t the tobacco most people think of—it’s pure, unprocessed, and deeply protective. In the Shipibo tradition, sopladas—blowing mapacho smoke through the energy field—are used to:
✨ Extract intrusive energies lingering in the body
✨ Clear the emotional body of stagnation
✨ Seal and protect the aura after deep release
I guided the aggressive energy upwards, working from her sacral chakra to her throat as the intensity built. It wanted to escape through the mouth—a scream, an exhale, a release beyond words.
And then—it was gone.
The weight lifted. Her body softened. The space was cleared, blessed, and sealed.
We laughed after because… never in my life did I think I’d be doing sopladas in an acupuncture session—but here we are. Because sometimes the body needs needles, sometimes the spirit needs smoke, and sometimes… you need both.
This healing work goes beyond technique. It’s a channel for the wisdom and power of plant spirits that I connect with daily. The medicine speaks through me and guides the process of healing. Each session unfolds uniquely, as the plants do their work.
